Be the most efficient person you know! Organise your computer in a few clicks of a mouse. Make your PC more responsive to your style of working. Learn how to use your computer to store and retrieve information effectively, to set up a printer and produce impressive paper results from the computer.

* What you will learn

At the end of this course the learner will understand:

  • why it's important to restart and shutdown their computer using the 'Shut Down' commands
  • how to view the configuration settings etc using the computer control panel
  • separate drives are used for different applications e.g. holding data, CD ROMs and floppy discs
  • how to create desktop shortcuts for easy access to regularly used files and folders
  • the basic directory and folder structure on their computer and the importance of organisation
  • how to start up Windows Explorer, create a new folder, rename a folder, rename and save a file
  • the purpose of the Print Preview option and how to use it
  • how and why to change the default printer settings
